VR Smoke School is Now Approved by Texas TCEQ
Texas TCEQ has approved the VR Smoke School program. EPA Method 9 certifications from our virtual smoke school can be used at all Texas facilities.
VR Smoke School is an EPA-approved program for earning EPA Method 9 certification from the comfort of your home or office. Our virtual, online smoke school meets all requirements of ALT-152 and is accessible from any internet-connected computer or VR headset. The certification you receive from our program is identical to the certification issued at an in-person smoke school.
Texas Approves VR Smoke School Program
The VR Smoke School program was recently reviewed and approved by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). TCEQ has additional requirements that must be met by a virtual smoke school provider beyond standard ALT-152 provisions. EPA Method 9 certification earned through our program is now authorized for use on any applicable source in Texas. View the full details on our Texas state page. Texas joins more than 90% of U.S. states that recognize certifications earned through this program.
Convenience & Cost Savings
Due to its size, travel time and expenses can be significant for students attending in-person smoke schools across Texas. Every six months, many students travel several hours to reach the nearest event. With the availability of virtual smoke school, certification can now be completed in less than an hour. Travel time, expenses and scheduling conflicts are eliminated. You can also review the cost savings using our pricing comparison.
