VR Smoke School - State Authorization Status
ALT-152 is an EPA-approved method for earning EPA Method 9 certification through virtual smoke school training - eliminating the need to attend an in-person smoke school. VR Smoke School's program is EPA-approved and meets all ALT-152 requirements. The EPA Method 9 certification you earn from our virtual smoke school is identical to one obtained through an in-person smoke school. Our EPA Method 9 certification can be used at any federally-regulated source in the U.S. The EPA issues a letter for each approved ALT-152 program. For state-regulated sources, each EPA-approved ALT-152 provider must obtain state-specific authorization. Authorization granted to one provider does not necessarily apply to another.
